Fun fun fun.

Yesterday was Martin Luther King day, so Adam had the day off of work. We thought it would be fun to take the kids to a dollar movie. Knowing it was a day off from school and the fact that the dollar theater only charges $.50 on Mondays, we went early to hopefully get tickets before they were sold out (45 min. early is all but this is still substantially early for our family who usually shows up for movies at least 5 min after it starts.) We wanted to go to the 2:45 showing of Madagascar 2. The show times were 2:15, 2:45, 4:20, 4:50, 6:15 , 6:55 etc. All the shows were sold out until 6:55! So, we barely missed that one I guess.

We were in Orem already, so we decided to see if the Bean Museum was open. For those who aren't aware, it is not an actual "bean" museum. It is named after Monte L Bean and is a Museum of Natural Life on BYU campus. It's free and my kids love it. We go at least once a year. Adam had never been though, so it was fun to go with him for a change.
We had a really fun time looking at all of the different animals, bugs, shells etc.
Afterward we went to the creamery for ice cream. Their food is so good and so inexpensive. You can get a kids meal which includes a hot dog/corn dog/hamburger, french fires in your choice of three different flavors and are about the size of a large fry from Wendy's, a drink and a kiddie scoop if ice cream which is the same size as a small scoop from Hogi Yogi. (I worked there in high school so that's the best comparison I can make.) We bought three kids meals for 3.29 each, for all 5 of us to share and the kids were still so full they could hardly finish!

On the way home, Adam asked the kids to raise their hands if they had fun, which resulted in them raising both hands and both feet.

Yay for inexpensive, greasy food and free museum fun!!!!

That's so funny- I told my kids that we would go see that movie at the discount theater on Monday too. Of course, we never made it...glad to see we weren't the only ones.
