Back in 2001 we decided to pack up and move across the country to Mississippi so that Adam could get his degree in Professional Golf Management. We lived in Starkville Mississippi for 3 happy years. We enjoyed the slower paced southern lifestyle and kind southern hospitality. We were poor, but then so was everyone else in our student housing complex, so we didn't really notice. Maggie was born there and we made some wonderful friends.
Adam was required to do 3 internships at different golf courses. His last internship was in Park City which brought us home to Utah. After his internship we were supposed to move back to Mississippi for his last semester of school. Financially we just could not afford to move again, so we received special permission for him to finish his classes online. He had decided to add a minor in Spanish, so his final semester required 21 credit hours. By then we had 3 children and he was working 2 jobs to support us and serving in the scouts. Needless to say, there was not enough time to do every thing, consequently he failed one of his classes. This was in 2005. He's had that one last class to finish his degree hanging over us for the last five years. We could never seem to afford the tuition or find the time to take the class, so it kept getting put off. Eventually things started to drop off and one class turned int one class and 2 labs.
In January he evaluated his career and decided on the position he ultimately wanted in his company. The position requires a college diploma, and his company will reimburse 90% of the tuition, so he enrolled to finish his degree from Mississippi State through UVU. Odd, since with his current church calling he has even less time at home than he has in the last three years. So, from January through April, we basically didn't see him. I was blessed with the ability to take care of the kids and the house mostly on my own, although he did do dishes when he, could bless his heart, and he was blessed with incredible discipline to study and study after a full day at work and or church business. It was not a fun 4 months, but as with anything worthwhile, the hard work paid off and he not only finished, he earned 2 A's and a B+ (he only needed a C- to graduate, but Adam always does his best)
I'm so proud to be his wife and grateful for the incredible worker he is and for the great example he is to our kids.
We weren't about to go back to Mississippi for the ceremony, so no cap and gown for him. The cake topper will have to do.
I LoVe my Graduate!

That is incredibly exciting! Congratulations to all of you for your hard work!
That is so awesome. What an accomplishment when you have a family. We are in that same boat. Ben is 6 credits short of graduating and only went back because his credits were starting to get dropped. He is also busy and is managing to get A's. He should be done next year.
Congratulations Adam and family!!! What a huge sacrifice but it will be such a blessing for the rest of your lives that he has that degree.
Congratulations! It's so hard to go to school with a family, but SO worth it! (I can say that now that I'm not 8 months pregnant with Randall being gone from 7-10 every day!)
Congratulations!
