Jackson Hole

We spent a GREAT week in Jackson Hole with my Mom the second week of May.

We drove up Sunday after church. It was beautiful and sunny. We made the 7 hour trip with relatively few problems, aside from the $150 dollar speeding ticket I got. They had lowered the speed on a road normally 65 mph to 45 mph, for some construction and I didn't see the reduced speed limit posted . NOT HAPPY!

I decided not to think about it, and to just enjoy my vacation.

We got to the condo at about 6:00, cooked some spaghetti, unpacked and went to bed early. It felt sooooo good to go to bed at 8:30.

The next day was supposed to be the best weather wise so we decided to go into town. It was BEAUTIFUL! (around 70 degrees) We played at the park and shopped and shopped and shopped.

This is in front of the General Mercantile. Last year they had a Buffalo out front. This year was this lovely Elk.

My sweet Mother buys the kids a new t-shirt as a souvenir every year. Here they are modeling this years picks.

Tuesday the weather was bad, so we visited The National Museum of Natural Art.

Wed we just stayed at the condo. The kids played at the park, we read books, watched Food Network (we're all big fans) and went for a walk. And we had this visitor in the back yard.

And each night we went to the hot tub.

I really need one of these in my back yard.

Late Wed night Adam and my sister Shannon came up and we went back to town Thursday.

Adam had to pose with the Elk too.

And another visit to the bears.

Friday we went to the Rec center to swim and out to eat at Bubbas. They have THE BEST B-b-q sauce!

Saturday we woke up to 5 inches of snow! We stopped at Smith and Edwards on the way home. That place is SO COOL! They have EVERYTHING! We were just going to pop in for 1/2 hour and we ended up staying for more than 2 hours and only saw 1/2 of the store. We decided to make that a tradition. My Mom bought me some AWESOME books for school :The Making of America, by Cleon Skousen, The Real George Washington, The Real Thomas Jefferson and The Real Ben Franklin. I was SO excited. Thanks Mom!!!! Shannon picked up some Army boots for $5 and some vintage candy thats hard to find anywhere else.

It was a great trip. So great that we decided to buy my parents time share from them so they can up grade to a bigger unit, and as the family gets bigger, there will be enough room for all of us to go in the future. We LOVE Jackson Hole!
